Maxx Williams, an American football tight end for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals, was born on April 12, 1994. In the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected him after his time playing college football at Minnesota.

2012 marked Williams’ first year of redshirting at the University of Minnesota. He started seven out of the 13 games he played in as a redshirt freshman in 2013, compiling 25 receptions for 417 yards and five touchdowns.

Williams was chosen by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round (55th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. In order to move up three positions and choose Williams, the Baltimore Ravens traded their second-round pick (58th overall) and a fifth-round pick (158th overall) to the Arizona Cardinals.

Williams joined the Arizona Cardinals on May 3, 2019. Williams was selected as the season’s first tight-end starter. He agreed to a two-year contract deal with the Cardinals on November 16, 2019.

Williams had 15 receptions for 202 yards and one receiving touchdown by the end of the 2019 season. At the beginning of training camp on August 2, 2020, Williams was added to the active/non-football illness list before being activated two days later.

Due to an ankle injury, he was put on injured reserve on September 21, 2020.

Williams’ season, which was almost definitely going to be his greatest, was ended by an ACL tear in Week 5 of last year (he needed just five games to come within 75 yards of his career-high).
