Iván Aaron Herrera is one of the youngest minor league players with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Iván is 1.80 m tall and weighs 100 kg. He plays as a catcher for the Cardinals.



He was born on June 1, 2000, in Panama. The St Louis Cardinals signed him as an international free agent in July 2016 and he was assigned to the Rookie League Dominican Summer League Cardinals in 2017 whether he made his professional debut.  He played in over 49 games for the team that year.

He also played for the Rookie League Gulf Coast Cardinals in 2018 and he played with the Peoria Chiefs of the Class A Midwest League at the beginning of the 2019 season after which the Cardinals promoted him to play with the Palm Beach Cardinals of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League.

The Cardinals selected him to play in the Arizona Fall League with the Glendale Desert Dogs where he was named an All-Star at the end of the 2019 minor league season. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic thus Iván did not play a minor league game that season.

After the season, the Cardinals added him to their 40-man roster. He spent his 2021 season playing with Springfield and he played in one game for the Memphis Redbirds of the Triple-A East to finish the season.
