Manuel De Jesus Rodrguez (born August 6, 1996) is a Mexican Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Chicago Cubs.

Rodrguez began his professional career with the Leones de Yucatán in the Mexican League, where he played from 2014 to 2016. After a 4–0 record and a 1.84 ERA in 49 innings, he was awarded the 2015 Mexican League Rookie of the Year.

On July 21, 2016, the Chicago Cubs bought Rodrguez’s contract from Yucatán for $400,000. In 2017, he pitched for both the Eugene Emeralds and the South Bend Cubs, going 1–0 with a 3.94 ERA in 29+23 innings. He pitched for South Bend in 2018, finishing 3–5 with a 7.59 ERA with 64 strikeouts in 40+13 innings.



He pitched 45 innings for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in 2019, going 1–3 with a 3.45 ERA, 52 hits, 36 walks, and 65 strikeouts.

After the 2019 season, Rodrguez was added to the Cubs’ 40-man roster. The Tennessee Smokies and the Iowa Cubs were his first two teams in the 2021 season. Rodrguez was picked to compete in the All-Star Futures Game in June 2021.

Chicago promoted him to the major leagues for the first time on July 30, 2021. That night, he made his MLB debut, pitching a scoreless inning in relief with two strikeouts.

With the major league squad in 2021, he went 3-3 with a 6.11 ERA. He pitched 17.2 innings in 20 games, allowing 18 runs, 12 of which were earned.
