Charlie Morton, real name Charles Alfred Morton IV plays baseball professionally for the Atlanta Braves baseball team of Major League Baseball(MLB). He plays as a pitcher and has a height of 1.95m.



Charlie was born in Flemington, New Jersey in the USA on November 12, 1983, to parents Jeanne and Chip Morton. His family moved to Trumbull in Connecticut where he played little league baseball. He then played high school baseball at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, Connecticut.

During the 2002 MLB draft, the Atlanta Braves selected him in the 3rd round of the draft with the 95th overall selection. He then began his professional career that season with the GCL Braves. In 2003, he was made to play for the Danville Braves and he spent the 2004 and 2005 minor league seasons playing for the Rome Braves.

Charlie was added to the Brave’s 40-man roster in November 2007. He was called up to the majors in 2008 where he made his MLB debut on June 14, 2008, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Braves traded him in June 2009 to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Pirates till they traded him to the Philadelphia Phillies in December 2015. Charlie signed a two-year worth $14 million contract with the Houston Astros in November 2016.

Two years after playing for the Astros, he signed with the Tampa Bay Rays in December 2018 and in November 2020, the Atlanta Braves signed a one-year contract of $15 million with him.
