Seiya Suzuki is one of the professional baseball outfielders who plays for the Chicago Cubs baseball team in Major League Baseball. Seiya is Japanese with a height and weight of 1.81 m and 83 kg.



Seiya began his amateur baseball career back in high school where he played as a pitcher for the team. He was drafted out of high school by the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in Japan during the second round of the 2012 Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) draft.

Seiya made his NPB debut on September 14, 2013, for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp after he was signed into the team. In August 2017, he suffered an ankle injury which caused him to miss that season’s games.

The following year in April 2018, the Carps removed him from their active roster after he experienced muscle stiffness in his lower body. He was later reactivated to play that season.

In March 2022, the Chicago Cubs and Seiya officially agreed to a five-year contract worth $85 million-plus bonuses. He made his MLB debut in April that year for the Cubs.
