In Major League Baseball, Yoan López Leyva pitches for the New York Mets (MLB). In the past, he has played for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball (MLB).

In the Cuban National Series, López spent three seasons with the Isla de la Juventud. There were 28 strikeouts in 49 innings of work, giving him an ERA of 3.12.

In order to play in Major League Baseball, López emigrated from Cuba in 2014. As a rookie, he played with the Rookie-level Arizona League Diamondbacks, and as a Class AA Southern League BayBear, he played for Mobile, Alabama.

Lopez was dealt with by the Atlanta Braves on May 22, 2021, in exchange for Deivi Estrada. He was assigned to the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers, where he would play for the next two seasons.

In a move that took place on November 22, the Braves designated López for assignment. On November 29, 2021, the Philadelphia Phillies claimed him off waivers and signed him to a minor league contract.

On March 18, 2022, he was claimed for the second time, this time by the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball. On March 29, 2022, he took the field for the New York Mets for the third time in his career.
