Marcus Stroman is an American born professional baseball pitcher currently a part of the Major League Baseball. He plays for the Chicago Cubs baseball team and wears the number 0 jersey, the first-ever in the Cubs jersey history.

Marcus grew up in Medford and was a student at Patchogue-Medford High School located in Medford where he played high school baseball for the baseball team the school. After high school, the Washington Nationals drafted him in the 18th round of the 2009 MLB draft but he did not sign with the team and chose to play college baseball for the Duke Blue Devils baseball team at Duke University rather.

The Toronto Blue Jays drafted him in 2012 in the 22nd overall pick of the 2012 MLB draft. The Blue Jays promoted him to the majors on May 3, 2014, and he made his MLB debut for the team the following day. The Blue Jays traded Marcus in July 2019 to the New York Mets and in December 2021, the Chicago Cubs team signed him on a three-year contract worth $71 million. He has been with the Cubs to date.
