Jacob Daniel McGee is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the San Francisco Giants. McGee was drafted in the fifth round of the 2004 MLB draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.


In 2008, he made his MLB debut. He played for the Rays, Colorado Rockies, and Los Angeles Dodgers in the past.

McGee and Germán Márquez were traded to the Colorado Rockies for Corey Dickerson and Kevin Padlo on January 28, 2016.

McGee pitched in 2016 with a 4.73 ERA. On December 3, 2016, McGee and the Rockies avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a $5.9 million contract for the 2017 season.

McGee went 0-2 with a 3.61 ERA and three saves in 62 games last season.


After the 2017 season, McGee signed a three-year, $27 million contract with the Rockies.

McGee pitched 45 games in 2019 while on the injured list, with an ERA of 4.35. On July 17, 2020, the Rockies released McGee.

McGee signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 21, 2020. He pitched in 24 games during the pandemic-shortened season, posting a 3–1 record and 2.66 ERA.

McGee pitched one scoreless inning in the 2020 World Series after allowing one run in 13 innings across three games in the National League Championship Series.
