Alex Reyes is a Dominican–American professional baseball pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was signed by the Cardinals as an amateur free agent in December 2012.

In 2013, Reyes made his professional debut with the Appalachian League’s Johnson City Cardinals. He had a 6–4 record with a 3.39 ERA with 68 strikeouts in 58 13 innings pitched in 12 starts (IP).

Baseball America listed him as the Cardinals’ seventh-best prospect prior to the 2014 season. He’s the 98th-best prospect in baseball, according to Baseball Prospectus.

In 2014, he played for the Midwest League’s Single-A Peoria Chiefs. His record was 7–7, with a 3.62 earned-run average, and he struck out 137 batters in 109 13 innings pitched.

Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus had Reyes ranked as the 51st and 55th best prospects in the major leagues, respectively, prior to the start of the 2015 season.

For Jim Callis, Reyes was the Cardinals’ most promising pitching prospect in 2015, even though he did not reach MLB.com’s top 100.
