A two-time All-state selection, Grady Jarrett who is an American football defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL), attended Rockdale County High School in Conyers, Georgia.
He was a four-year starter on both sides of the ball, and over his last two seasons, he had 198 tackles, 63 tackles for a loss, and 27.5 sacks. As a senior, he was chosen three times as the team’s top defensive player after accumulating 101 tackles (31.5 for a loss), nine sacks, and selections to the second team of the region’s All-Offense team.
He also participated in the North-South All-Star game in Georgia as well as the Florida Maxx Scout All-Star Bowl, where he recorded a total of 17 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles over the course of the two contests.
Jarrett also competed on the school’s wrestling team, finishing fourth in the state as a junior and taking home the heavyweight championship as a senior.
Jarrett, a standout athlete in both track and field, won the state championship in the shot put as a senior with a throw of 15.46 meters (50-6). Jarrett had a three-star rating from Rivals.com. Scout.com ranked him as the No. 41 defensive tackle in the country. He made a commitment to play college football at Clemson University.
