Originally born on October 19, 1990, Jordan Horton Lyles is an American professional baseball pitcher who now plays for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball (MLB).



He has previously played for the Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Brewers, and Texas Rangers, among others. He was born in Houston, Texas.

Lyles went to Hartsville High School in Hartsville, South Carolina, where he graduated in 2000.



With a 6–1 win-loss record and an earned run average of 0.85, he led the Red Foxes to a 4A title in baseball during his junior season (ERA).


As a pitcher, he was 7–2 in 2008, posting a 1.86 earned run average and 89 strikeouts in 60+2/3 innings thrown. Lyles had a.447 batting average with six home runs and 20 runs batted in throughout his playing career. Lyles set single-season school records in football by catching 81 passes for 1,568 yards and 23 touchdowns in a single season.
