The Dodgers have many well-known prospects, some of whom have been in the Top 30 for several years. However, just because they’re in the Top 30 doesn’t mean they’re the only ones worth considering.

Darien Nunez, a recent call-up, was not on any of the major prospect lists. Jorbit Vivas, a left-handed-hitting infielder, has been added to the “Unheralded Prospect Series,” which has been resurrected.

On July 4, 2017, the Dodgers signed Jorbit Vivas of Venezuela as an international free agent. Although he is categorized as a second baseman, he has played third base extensively. He’s also done some shortstop work.

His versatility to play a variety of positions well will only help him advance in the organization. Vivas, on the other hand, will be transported by the bat.

Vivas hit.222/.350/.295 (AV

G/OBP/SLG) in his debut professional season in the Dominican Summer League without hitting a home run. He spent his next season between the DSL and Ogden, hitting.327/.410/.472 with only two home runs in 199 at-bats.

He did, however, hit 17 doubles, which helped to offset the increased slugging percentage.

For 2021, Jorbit Vivas has been assigned to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in Low-A. He started poorly, hitting.208/.321/.396 in his first 12 games.

He hit.238/.322/.450 in the opening month of the season, May. With a slash of.309/.380/.494 in June, he really started to heat up, including a six-hit game.

His slash through July is.364/.417/.545 with a cumulative slash of.293/.365/.488 as of this writing.
