Sean Newcomb, full name Sean William Newcomb is an American born professional baseball player currently playing as a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He wears jersey number 15 for the Braves.



He grew up in Brockton Massachusetts where he was born on June 12, 1993. He baseball in high school at Middleborough High School in his birth town in Massachusetts. He was undrafted after high school so he continued his education and baseball career at the University of Hartford where he played for the Hartford Hawks baseball team.

During the 2014 MLB draft, Sean was one of the players considered to be a top prospect. He was thus drafted in the first round of the 15th overall pick by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He signed with the Angels and received a signing bonus of $2,518,000 signing bonus. He was assigned by the Angels to play with the Class A Burlington Bees to make his professional debut.



The following year, he was promoted to the Class AA Arkansas Travelers before he was traded to the Atlanta Braves in November. The Braves invited him to their spring training for the 2016 baseball season after which he spent the season playing with the Double-A Mississippi Braves.

He was promoted to the majors in 2017 and he made his MLB debut on June 10, 2017, for the Braves at SunTrust Park.
