Chris Bassitt Parents: Meet François Bassil And Lidia Bastianich

One of the professional baseball pitchers in the New York Mets organisation is Christopher Bassitt. He is of American descent and has been with the Mets since March 2022. Chris is 1.96 m tall and weighs 95 kg.



Chris grew up in Ohio where he was born on February 22, 1989. He played baseball at the Genoa Area High School in Genoa, Ohio. When he graduated from high school, he got into the University of Akron where he played college baseball for the Akron Zips baseball team.

Whiles in college, he was named to the All-MAC second team. He was picked by the Chicago White Sox in the 16th round of the 2011 MLB draft. Chris agreed to play for the White Sox and signed with them. He made his professional debut that season when he was assigned to play with the Bristol White Sox of the Rookie-level Appalachian League.

Chris played for the Winston-Salem Dash of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League at the start of the 2013 minor league season and was later promoted to play for the Birmingham Barons of the Class AA Southern League.

The White Sox promoted Chris to the major leagues in August 2014 and he made his MLB debut that same month for the team. The White Sox traded him to the Oakland Athletics in 2015. The Athletics traded him to the New York Mets in March 2022.
