From 2013 until 2016, Haack attended and played collegiate football for Arizona State. He shared punting duties with Alex Garoutte, Dom Vizzare, and Taylor Kelly during the 2013 season. He has 16 punts for 612 net yards and a 38.3 average.

During the 2014 season, he handled the majority of the punting duties, with Taylor Kelly and Mike Bercovici doing the rest. He had 53 punts for 2,296 net yards and a 43.3 average.
