Jaylin Malik Davis, an American Major League Baseball outfielder for the San Francisco Giants, was born on July 1, 1994. He attended Appalachian State University and played baseball there.
The Minnesota Twins selected him in the 24th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft. In 2019, he made his MLB debut.
Davis played baseball for Northeast Guilford High School in McLeansville, North Carolina, where he batted.453 as a sophomore, .468 as a junior, and.483 as a senior. In his senior year, he was named all-state and conference Player of the Year.
Davis attended Appalachian State University and played baseball there. He majored in health promotion. In 2013, he was a Louisville Slugger freshman all-American and the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year. He was picked in the 24th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Minnesota Twins.
The Giants picked Davis’ contract and promoted him to the major leagues on September 4, 2019. That night, he made his major league debut against the St. Louis Cardinals, hitting an infield single off Michael Wacha.
