Davis played baseball for Northeast Guilford High School in McLeansville, North Carolina, where he batted.453 as a sophomore, .468 as a junior, and.483 as a senior. In his senior year, he was named all-state and conference Player of the Year.

In 2013, he was a Louisville Slugger freshman all-American and the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year. In 42 at-bats in right field for the 2019 season, he batted.167/.255/.238. Davis batted.167/.167/.417 with a home run and an RBI in 12 at-bats with the Giants in 2020.
