Alex Reyes Parents: Meet Tomás Reyes and Dignora Reyes

One of the professional baseball pitchers with the St Louis Cardinals baseball team is Alexander Reyes. Alex has a  Dominican–American descent and has been with the Cardinals since 2012. He was born and raised in New Jersey where he had his amateur career playing at the Elizabeth High School in New Jersey.



Alex was signed by the St Louis Cardinals in December 2012. He earned an amount of $950,000 as a signing bonus. The Cardinals assigned him t play with the Johnson City Cardinals of the Appalachian League in 2013 to make his professional debut. At the end of the season, he was ranked by Baseball America as the seventh-best prospect in the Cardinals team.

During the 2014 minor league season, Alex spent the season with the Single-A Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League. In August 2016, he was promoted to the major leagues by the Cardinals and he made his MLB debut that same day when the Cardinals played against the Cincinnati Reds.



Alex missed the entire 2017 season as he was diagnosed with a partial tear of his ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow which made him undergo Tommy John surgery.
