David Peterson Parents: Meet David Peterson Father, Doug Peterson

David Peterson, born David John Peterson happens to be an American born professional baseball pitcher currently with the New York Mets baseball team of Major League Baseball(MLB). David is 1.98m and weighs 109 kg.



David had his high school amateur baseball career at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado. In 2013 while he was still in high school, he played in the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game at Wrigley Field. The Boston Red Sox drafted him in the 2014 MLB draft, but he did not sign with them and enrolled at the University of Oregon, where he played college baseball for the Ducks.

When he was done with college, he was drafted by the New York Mets in the first round of the 2017 MLB draft. He signed with the Mets and started his professional career that year after he was assigned to play for the Brooklyn Cyclones.

During the 2018 baseball season, MLB.com ranked him as New York’s second-best prospect. For the 2018 minor league season, David spent the season with the Columbia Fireflies after which he was promoted to the St. Lucie Mets.

The Mets added him to their 40-man roster in July 2020 and he made his MLB debut that same day when the Mets played against the Boston Red Sox.

David Peterson’s only known parent is his father. His father is Doug Peterson. Doug was a trainer who trained the great Seattle Slew in 1978.
