The only Martin’s wages that are guaranteed are his base salary for 2022 and $1 million for his 2023 wages.

The Jets will save $4 million if they release Martin following the 2022 campaign, but a $3.3 million dead cap charge will be incurred. With just $1.15 million in dead cap, they can save $3.5 million if they fire him after 2023.
