Trea Turner is a professional baseball player from America. He plays as a shortstop for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team and has been with them since July 2021.

Trea grew up in Florida where he was born on June 30, 1993. He was a baseball player in high school at Park Vista Community High School in Lake Worth, Florida. In the 2011 MLB draft, he was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 20th round of the draft.

He didn’t sign with the pirates and chose to play college baseball for the North Carolina State Wolfpack baseball team in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Division I. After college, the San Diego Padres selected him in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft.

He signed with the Padres that year and was paid $2.9 million as a signing bonus. He was assigned to play with the Eugene Emeralds of the Class A-Short Season Northwest League to kick start his professional career.  He was promoted that season to the Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Class A Midwest League.

The Washington Nationals purchased his contract from the Padres in December 2014.  Trea made his MLB debut on August 21, 2015, for the Washington Nationals. The Nationals traded him in July 2021 to the Los Angeles Dodgers where he has been to date.
