Has Myles Straw Ever Hit A Homerun?

In their 3-1 victory on Tuesday night at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the Astros didn’t have the offensive explosion they had recently, but it didn’t matter. They now have a nine-game winning streak, which is their longest run since a 10-game run from May 8–18, 2019.

In the second inning, Houston scored the game’s first run. That home run was Myles Straw’s second home run of the year and third of his career.

Straw sent the fourth pitch of the at-bat over the left-field wall. When the ball returned to play, it was initially called a double. Manager Dusty Baker emerged from the dugout, asking for another look.

Straw was awarded a home run after the Astros won the challenge. His 367-foot shot broke a scoreless tie and gave Houston the lead.

“You hit home runs when you start to feel like you can,” Baker said of Straw’s second home run in seven games.

Straw joked about competing in the Home Run Derby, saying, “I’d want to, but they haven’t asked.” “I’ve been working on timing with our hitting coaches.” I’m just fine-tuning my swing and getting ready to hit. Being neither too passive nor too assertive.”

Straw delivered another clutch RBI single for his team in the top of the seventh inning, bringing Chas McCormick home from first base.
