Taijuan Walker was born Taijuan Emmanuel Walker. He is an American born professional baseball pitcher with the New York Mets baseball team of Major League Baseball. He earns an annual salary of $10 million from the Mets.



Taijuan was born on August 13, 1992, in Shreveport, Louisiana in the USA. He was a student at Yucaipa High School in Yucaipa, California where he played baseball for the school as a pitcher and shortstop.

During the 2010 MLB draft, the Seattle Mariners drafted him in the first round of the draft. He agreed to play for the Mariners and received $800,000 as a signing bonus. He made his professional debut that year playing for the Rookie League AZL Mariners.

The Mariners selected him to play in the 2012 All-Star Futures Game. The following year in August, he was playing for the Tacoma Rainiers of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. The Mariners traded his contract to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2016 and in February 2020, Taijuan signed a one-year contract of $2 million to return to the Seattle Mariners.

He was traded again by the Mariners to the Toronto Blue Jays in August 2020. He signed a two-year contract worth $20 million in February 2021 with the New York Mets.
