A professional American football club called the Green Bay Packers is situated in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers play in the National Football League’s National Football Conference North division.

The Packers were founded in 1919 by Earl “Curly” Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun. Beginnings of the franchise may be seen in semi-pro teams in Green Bay as early as 1896. Before joining the American Professional Football Association (APFA), the forerunner to the current NFL, in 1921, the Packers played semi-pro football in Wisconsin and the Midwest from 1919 to 1920. The Green Bay region has by far North America’s smallest major league professional sports market.

The Packers have won an NFL record 13 league championships, which is the most in league history, thanks to nine regular-season titles and four Super Bowl triumphs. The Packers were the first NFL team to defeat the AFL before the AFL-NFL merger when they won the first two Super Bowls in 1966 and 1967. Under Vince Lombardi’s direction, the Packers made their first two Super Bowl appearances; he is recognized with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Then, under the leadership of head coaches Mike Holmgren and Mike Mccarthy, they won two additional Super Bowls in 1996 and 2010, respectively. The Packers have the most victories (804) and the best win-loss record (.571) in NFL history when regular season and postseason games are taken into account.

Yes. Since the Packers is community owned, anyone can buy shares. In 2021, the Green Bay Packers Inc. sold shares at $300 each.
