Gregory Arthur Deichmann Jr., professionally known as Greg Deichmann is an American born professional baseball player with the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Greg plays in the position of an outfielder for the team.
He had his amateur career at Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Undrafted after high school, he enrolled at the Louisiana State University (LSU), where he played college baseball for the Tigers. Whiles in college, he was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 26th round of the 2016 MLB draft but he did not sign and continued to play for the LSU.
Greg played collegiate summer baseball with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League. After college, he was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the second round of the 2017 MLB draft. He signed with them and made his professional debut that year with the Low-A Vermont Lake Monsters.
In 2018, he played for the High-A Stockton Ports and he was assigned to play for the Midland RockHounds of the Double-A Texas League in 2019. The Athletics traded him to the Chicago Cubs in July 2021. He made his MLB debut for the Cubs in August 2021.
