Garden City Community College and Austin Peay State University were his college baseball teams. The Giants selected Rogers in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB draft.

In 2019, he made his MLB debut. In both 2020 and 2021, he topped the National League in games pitched. He’s recognized for his unusual submarine-style pitching, which involves releasing the ball below knee level with an exaggerated sidearm motion.



Rogers pitched for the Arizona League Giants and the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in his first season, going 1–1 with a 2.30 ERA in 27 innings. He pitched for the Augusta GreenJackets and the San Jose Giants in 2014, posting a 4–0 record and 1.81 ERA in 89+23 innings.

Rogers pitched for the San Jose Giants and the Richmond Flying Squirrels in 2015, going 5–2 with a 2.50 ERA in 89 innings. He pitched for the Sacramento River Cats and Richmond in 2016, going 2–2 with a 3.27 ERA in 66 innings.

He pitched for Sacramento in 2017, finishing 4–4 with a 2.37 ERA in 76 innings. For the 2018 season, he returned to Sacramento, going 3–2 with a 2.13 ERA in 67+23 innings.

In 2019, Rogers returned to Sacramento, going 4–2 with a 4.21 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 62 innings. The Giants picked Rogers’ contract and promoted him to the major leagues on August 27, 2019. That night, he made his relief debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks, pitching a scoreless inning.
