Calvin Anderson entered the NFL in 2019 as an undrafted free agent who was signed by the New England Patriots. He was released by the team just a few weeks later.



The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native started his career at a young age. His dad who played college football taught his son the basics of the game.

Anderson started high school at Georgetown High School, where he played football for the first three years. During his final year of high school, he transferred to Westlake High School.



Coming out of high school, Anderson was a sought-after athlete and he had offers from institutions including Texas Tech and Kansas State.

He started his college career at Rice University and played three seasons of college football with the Rice Owls.

Anderson was a three-year starter at Rice, during which he started in a total of 36 consecutive games, after having his rookie year at Rice designated as a redshirt year.

Additionally, in 2016 and 2017, he was selected for an honorable mention on the Conference USA All-Conference team.

Anderson transferred to the University of Texas at Austin for his final year and played one season for the Texas Longhorns.

DeVry and Keiko Anderson are the parents of Calvin Anderson and his siblings. His father, DeVry, played football for the Army Black Knights and went on to become a flight surgeon in the military. He also earned an MBA, was ordained as a pastor, and practiced medicine before retiring as a full-bird colonel in 2019.
