Seth Romero is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball for the University of Houston Cougars and was drafted by the Nationals in the first round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft.

Romero was chosen by the Washington Nationals with the 25th overall pick in the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft. On July 7 he became a member of the team, and according to reports, he accepted an over-slot signing bonus of $2.8 million.

Mike Rizzo, the general manager of the Nationals, stated that he did not anticipate Romero to make his debut in the major leagues in the 2017 season.

Despite the fact that the Nationals’ director of amateur scouting stated that he believed Romero’s stuff could immediately be effective in Major League Baseball.

Romero started the season with the GCL Nationals where he went one appearance without allowing a run before being promoted to the Auburn Doubledays. There, he finished the season with a 5.40 earned run average and 32 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched.
