Hanser Alberto, born Hanser Joel Alberto Peña is a professional baseball infielder of Dominican descent who now plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team of the Major League Baseball(MLB).



Alberto was born in San Francisco de Macoris in the Dominican Republic on October 17, 1992. He is 1.8m tall and earns an annual salary of $1.65 million from his team.

The Texas Rangers baseball team signed him as an international free agent in November 2009. He received a signing bonus of $75,000 after signing with the Rangers. He was then assigned to play for the Dominican Summer Rangers of the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League in 2010.



During the 2013 baseball season, he was with the Frisco RoughRiders of the Class AA Texas League. He won the Rawlings Minor League Gold Glove Award as the best defensive shortstop in minor league baseball in 2014.

He was claimed off waivers by the New York Yankees on November 2, 2018. He later signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals in January 2021. The Royals placed him on their 40-man roster in March 2021.

In October that year, Alberto was elected free agency. He signed a one year contract worth $1.6 million with a $2 million option for 2023 with the Los Angeles Dodgers in March 2022.
