After graduating from Texas A&M, Mann was selected by the NFL in the sixth round of the 2020 Draft. During the draft, he was the first of two punters to be selected.

During his time at Texas A&M, Mann established himself as a top punter in the country.

He was recognized as the greatest punter in college football in 2018, earning him the Ray Guy Award.

In addition to receiving this honor, Mann was selected as a unanimous All-American, made the first team of All-SEC, and was named the Special Teams Player of the Year for the SEC.

In 2019, Mann was once again selected to the First Team All-SEC.

During his time playing collegiate football, Mann had a punting average of 47.1 yards.

Mann had a total of 109 punts, 13 of which resulted in touchbacks, and 46 of his punts were placed within the opponent’s 20-yard line. In his junior year, he had a punt that went for 82 yards.

The decision made by New York to not re-sign Lachlan Edwards paved the way for Mann to become the starting punter for the team.

Since the Jets do not currently have another punter on their active roster, it is likely that Mann will be the team’s punter for their season opener versus the Bills unless he has an absolutely terrible training camp.
