Tucker can play numerous positions along the offensive line, but he will probably play left guard for the Jets. At Bishop O’Dowd High in Oakland, Tucker participated in both offensive and defensive football as a senior.

He was one of the starting offensive tackles on offense and a defensive end on defense. As a member of the Bishop O’Dowd High state championship squad in his senior year, Tucker registered 12 tackles and a blocked punt.

Tucker was switched to right guard and used on special teams as soon as he got to USC. Last year, Tucker started all six of the Trojans’ games as a left tackle. Due to concerns about COVID-19, Tucker didn’t intend to play last season, but he eventually changed his mind.

Due to the epidemic, the Pac-12 stated that it would postpone its 2020 season. Tucker declared that he would opt out of the current season after that to be ready for the 2021 Draft.

A shorter 2020 campaign resulted from a subsequent change of heart by the Pac-12. Upon hearing that news, Tucker made the decision to opt back into the season.
