Sean Hjelle, full name Sean Anthony Hjelle is one of the professional baseball players currently with the San Francisco Giants baseball team. He plays as a pitcher and happens to be one of the tallest baseball players in the MLB. He has a height of 2.11 m.

Sean grew up in Fridley in Minnesota. His parents are Mark and Sue Hjelle. He has two siblings, Mara Hjelle and Erica Hjelle. Sean began his non-professional baseball career when he attended Mahtomedi High School located in Mahtomedi, Minnesota.

When he was undrafted after high school, he continued his education at the University of Kentucky where he played college baseball for the Kentucky Wildcats. After college, the San Francisco Giants drafted him in the second round of the 2018 MLB draft.

He then began his professional career by signing with the Giants. He was given $1.5 million as a signing bonus. The Giants assigned him to play with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes that season. In 2019, he was made to spend the season with the Augusta GreenJackets of the Class A South Atlantic League and was chosen by the team to be their Opening Day starter player.

The Giants promoted him to the Class A-Advanced San Jose Giants in May 2019 and in August, he was promoted to play with the Richmond Flying Squirrels of the Class AA Eastern League.
