Frank J. Schwindel, sometimes known as “The Tank,” is an American professional baseball first baseman who currently plays for the Chicago Cubs in Major League Baseball (MLB).
He formerly played for the Kansas City Royals and Oakland Athletics in Major League Baseball. In Livingston, New Jersey, Schwindel attended Livingston High School.
From 2011 to 2013, he was a member of the St. John’s Red Storm and played college baseball for them.
He also played for the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League’s Riverhead Tomcats in 2011 and the New England Collegiate Baseball League’s Keene Swamp Bats in 2012.
Schwindel was drafted in the 18th round of the 2013 MLB draft by the Kansas City Royals.
In his first season with the Idaho Falls Chukars in 2013, Schwindel hit.300/.336/.431/.767 with 6 home runs and 42 RBIs in 64 games.
