He started six games at left guard as a junior. In 2019, he made 12 starts at left guard and left tackle, helping an offense average more than 400 yards per game. He was selected for the starting lineup of the Ohio Valley Conference.

Lachavious Simmons was drafted in 2020. The Chicago Bears selected Simmons as the 227th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
