Justin Carl Steele, simply referred to as Justin Steele plays baseball professionally for the Chicago Cubs baseball team of Major League Baseball(MLB). He plays as a pitcher for the team.



Born in Lucedale, Mississippi on July 11, 1995, Justin grew up playing baseball at the George County High School in his hometown. He didn’t get the chance to attend college as he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the fifth round of the 2014 MLB draft.

He made his professional debut that season with the Arizona League Cubs of minor league baseball. He spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons playing for the Eugene Emeralds and the South Bend Cubs.



For the 2018 minor league season, Justin spent it playing for the Arizona League Cubs, Myrtle Beach and the Tennessee Smokies. He was then added to the Cub’s active 40-man roster after the season.

Since the 2020 minor league was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Justin did not play in any game that season. The Cubs promoted him to the major leagues twice before he finally made his MLB debut.

The first was in August 2020 and the second was in April 2021. He made his MLB debut that night when the Cubs played against the Milwaukee Brewers.
