The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division.

There had not been a National Football League franchise located south of Washington, District of Columbia, prior to the founding of the Dallas Cowboys in 1960. due to the fact that the Dallas Texans disbanded after just playing one season in 1952.

After two businessmen’s attempts to gain Dallas a team in the National Football League (NFL) were unsuccessful, Lamar Hunt formed the American Football League (AFL) with a group of other owners, which encouraged the NFL to increase its roster size beyond twelve clubs.

Oilman Clint Murchison Jr. was adamant about bringing a franchise to Dallas, but George Preston Marshall, owner of the Washington Redskins, held a monopoly in the Southern region at the time (after the addition of Dallas, the South would see three further teams – NFL teams in Atlanta and New Orleans, and an AFL team in Miami – added in the next six years).

What is the oldest Dallas Cowboy cheerleader?

According to Kelli Finglass, who directs the Cowboys cheerleaders, the oldest lady who has ever danced with the squad was a Kansas mother named Linda Badami, who was 37 years old and a mother of four children at the time.

There have been times in the past when grandmothers and women in their 50s have tried out for the squad, but none of them have been selected. According to Finglass, the oldest member of the 2011 squad was 31 years old, and the youngest member was only 18 years old.

Finglass claims that most of the time, the team is dealing with a considerably younger set of women.
