Dominican professional baseball pitcher Alexander Vizcaino is now a member of the Chicago Cubs of the Major League Baseball (MLB).

Vizcaino signed as an international free agent with the New York Yankees on May 18, 2016. With the Dominican Summer League Yankees, he made his professional debut, pitching 11 games with a 4.89 ERA.

Vizcaino spent last season with the rookie-level Pulaski Yankees, where he went 3-5 with a 5.79 ERA in 12 outings.

The following season, he split his time between Pulaski and the Low-A Charleston RiverDogs, going 3-4 with a 5.12 ERA in 12 games.

He pitched for the Charleston Riverdogs and the High-A Tampa Tarpons in 2019, going 6-6 with a 4.38 ERA in 21 starts for both teams.

Owing to the termination of the minor league season due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Vizcaino did not play in any games in 2020.

On November 20, 2020, Vizcaino was named to the 40-man roster after the season.

Vizcaino started the 2021 season with the rookie-level Florida Complex League Yankees and the High-A Hudson Valley Renegades, appearing in two games each.

Vizcaino and Kevin Alcántara were traded to the Chicago Cubs for Anthony Rizzo on July 29, 2021. For the High-A South Bend Cubs, he finished the season with a 5.27 ERA in 6 games.
