Where did Mancini go to College?

Mancini joined the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team and majored in political science.

In his rookie season, Mancini was a standout performer. Played in 53 games, starting 52 of them, with 47 starts at first base and five as a designated hitter.

He was the first Irish rookie to lead Notre Dame in all three triple-crown categories, and he was only the eighth player in program history to do it (batting average, home runs and RBI).

Mancini was voted Rookie of the Year in the BIG EAST in 2011, as well as third team All-BIG EAST and Louisville Slugger Freshman of the Year.

In 2011, he was named to the All-American team three times and was named to the BIG EAST honor roll three times.

Mancini received more Player of the Week/Honor Roll honors from the BIG EAST than any other player.

He appeared in and started 54 games (all at first base) during his sophomore season. Mancini hit .317 (64-for-202) with 47 runs scored, 10 doubles, 12 home runs, and 45 RBI in 64 plate appearances.

In seven attempts, he had 22 walks, six hits by pitches, three sacrifice flies, and three stolen bases. Mancini has 110 total bases, a .545 slugging percentage, a .395 on-base percentage, and a .992 fielding percentage in his career.

Perfect Game ranked Mancini as the No. 7 MLB prospect in the BIG EAST and Baseball America ranked him as the No. 10 MLB prospect in the 2013 MLB draft.

Perfect Game ranked him as the No. 93 junior MLB prospect, and he was named to the 2013 BIG EAST Preseason Coaches First Team.
