Wade Miley

Wade Allen Miley (born November 13, 1986) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Chicago Cubs (MLB). Miley was drafted in the first round of the 2008 MLB draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

He debuted in Major League Baseball in 2011 with the Arizona Diamondbacks and has since played for the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers, Houston Astros, and Cincinnati Reds.

Southeastern Louisiana University was his college baseball team. He pitched a no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians on May 7, 2021.

Miley has been hunting since she was three years old. Miley was an Atlanta Braves fan growing up in Louisiana. His off-season is presently spent on his property in Austin, Texas.

Miley and Katy have one child, a boy born in September 2016.

With an occasional fifth pitch, he throws four major pitches.

The four major pitches are a four-seam fastball and two-seam fastball (both 88–92 mph (142–148 km/h)), a slider (79–82 mph (127–132 km/h), and a changeup against right-handed hitters (80–81 mph (129–130 km/h). A curveball in the mid-upper 70s, particularly against right-handed batters, is the least prevalent. The slider is his go-to off-speed pitch with two strikes.
