It was February 18, 2018, when the Yankees traded Solak to Tampa Bay in a three-team deal that included the acquisition of Brandon Drury, Steven Souza, Taylor Widener, and Anthony Banda, and the acquisition of Anthony Banda, Colin Poche, and Sam McWilliams from the Arizona Diamondback.

He played for Montgomery Biscuits in 2018. Solak was awarded Montgomery’s MVP after hitting.282 with 19 home runs, 76 RBIs, and 21 stolen bases in 126 games.

The Durham Bulls drafted Solak in the first round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. His season stats for the Bulls included 17 home runs, 47 RBI, and a.266/.350/.485/.835 slash line.
