Julio Urías  Wiki

Julio César Uras Acosta is a Mexican Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was signed by the Dodgers in 2012 and made his MLB debut in 2016.

Carlos Urias and Juana Isabel Acosta are the parents of Uras. In his early twenties, he was a member of Mexico’s national youth squad.

Uras met Mike Brito, a scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers when he was 14 years old. Brito had scouted Fernando Valenzuela for the Dodgers in the late 1970s.

On the same scouting trip to Mexico that they signed Yasiel Puig, the Dodgers discovered 15-year-old Urias at a showcase in Oaxaca in June 2012. On August 12, his sixteenth birthday, the Dodgers signed him.

The Dodgers paid a $450,000 signing bonus, with the majority of it going to the Mexican League’s Diablos Rojos del México.

It was on May 25, 2013, that Uras became the youngest player in the Midwest League, striking out six hitters over three shutout innings for the Great Lakes Loons.

At 2–0, he had the second-lowest earned run average (ERA) in the majors this season, with 67 strikeouts over 54.1 innings.

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the California League were where he spent the year 2014. He was 2–2 with a 2.36 ERA in 25 appearances, 20 of which were starts.
