Steven Duggar Parents: Meet Steven Duggar Mother, Susan

Steven Michael Duggar, better known by his nickname Duggy, is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the San Francisco Giants.

He attended Clemson University and was picked by the Giants in the sixth round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft. In 2018, he made his MLB debut.

Duggar grew up in Moore, South Carolina, after being born in Spartanburg. His mother was a University of Evansville swimmer. His father died when he was ten years old.

Duggar went to Duncan, South Carolina’s James F. Byrnes High School, where he started playing varsity basketball as a seventh grader.

As a sophomore, junior, and senior, he was all-region, and as a junior and senior, he was all-state.

 

He subsequently went on to Clemson University to play college baseball, predominantly in right field.

In 2013, Duggar played collegiate summer baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Cotuit Kettleers, and he returned in 2014 to play for the Falmouth Commodores, where he was selected as a league all-star.

He hit 294/.368/.378, was second in the Atlantic Coast Conference with 25 stolen bases (despite only being caught three times), and tied for seventh with three triples in 2014.

He batted .304/.432/.432 in 2015, leading the ACC in sacrifice flies (8), walks (54), and runs (7th) (56).

Susan Duggar is the mother of Steven Duggar and the ex-husband of Keith Duggar. Susan was a swimmer at the University of Evansville. Spartanburg Regional Hospital’s chief nursing officer is Susan Duggar.
