Scott Benjamin-Morton Effross simply referred to as Scott Effross is an American born professional baseball player who plays the position of a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs baseball team of the Major League Baseball(MLB). He was born to Stefan Effross and Christine Morton on December 28, 1993, in Twinsburg, Ohio in the United States.



Scott attended Twinsburg High School and played as a first baseman for the baseball team. Throughout his amateur high school baseball career, Scott received the following honours; the Plain Dealer High School Baseball All-Star team, the Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Team, and the All-Ohio Academic Team and was Mizuno All-Ohio in 2012.

After high school, Scott attended Indiana University and played college baseball for the Indiana University baseball team. He was also a political science major student.



He was drafted out of college by the Chicago Cubs team in the 15th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. Scott agreed to play for the Cubs and signed with them for a signing bonus worth $100,000. He started playing professionally in minor leagues that same year he was signed.

The Cubs promoted him to the major leagues for the very first time in August 2021. He made his MLB debut on August 29, 2021, for the Cubs.
