Manuel Elías Piña Reyes, professionally known only as Manny Piña is a Venezuelan professional baseball player who serves as a catcher for the Atlanta Braves baseball team. Manny is 1.83 m tall and weighs 101 kg.



Manny was born on June 5, 1987, in a town called Barquisimeto in Venezuela. He had his non-professional career playing in Venezuela before he was signed as an international free agent in 2005 by the Texas Rangers team. He made his professional debut that season for the AZL Rangers.

During the 2006 minor league season, he missed most games as he was recovering from right elbow surgery. When the 2007 season began, he played for the AZL Rangers again and also played for the Clinton Lumber Kings where he recorded a hit of .228 in 86 games. He spent the 2008 season between the Bakersfield Blaze and Frisco RoughRiders.

The Rangers traded him in September 2009 to the Kansas City Royals. In July 2011, the Royals added him to their active roster. He made his MLB debut on August 3 2011 for the Royals. In January 2014, Manny left the Royals organization and signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners.

The Detroit Tigers bought his contract from the Mariners in June 2014 and in December 2015, the Tigers traded him to the Milwaukee Brewers. Before the beginning of the 2022 season, Manny signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Atlanta Braves baseball team.
