Dillion Peters is 29 years old. He was born on August 31, 1992.

 

Dillon James Peters is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the United States.

Miami Marlins selected Peters in the 10th round of the 2014 MLB Draft, and he made his MLB debut in 2017. He has previously played for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Major League Baseball.

Peters was picked in the 20th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft by the Cleveland Indians. He attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He didn’t sign and instead went to the University of Texas in Austin, where he played baseball. In the summer of 2013, he played collegiate baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Harwich Mariners.

After suffering an elbow injury that necessitated Tommy John surgery, his junior season was cut off early. Despite his injuries, he was selected in the 10th round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by the Miami Marlins.

Peters debuted in the GCL Marlins in 2015 and was later promoted to the Batavia Muckdogs, where he went 1–4 with a 3.60 ERA in 11 starts.

He pitched for the Jupiter Hammerheads and the Jacksonville Suns in 2016, going 14–6 with a 2.38 ERA in 24 starts. In 13 starts, he went 7–3 with a 1.57 ERA for Jupiter, Jacksonville, and the GCL Marlins.

Peters was promoted to the big leagues by the Marlins on September 1, 2017, when he made his debut. In 2017, he started six games for Miami, going 1–2 with a 5.17 ERA in 31.1 innings pitched.

Peters was traded to the Los Angeles Angels on November 21, 2018, in exchange for RHP Tyler Stevens. Peters appeared in 17 games for the Dodgers in 2019, going 4-4 with a 5.38 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 72.0 innings.

Peters only pitched 1.2 innings for the Angels in 2020, giving up three earned runs with two strikeouts and a 16.20 ERA.

Following the acquisition of Aaron Slegers, Peters was designated for assignment. On February 13, he was outrighted and invited to Spring Training as a non-roster invitee.

Peters was added to the active roster on May 19, 2021.

Peters spent his entire stay in Salt Lake on the 40-man roster before being designated for assignment on July 14 after failing to appear for the Angels.
