Alexander Ross Dickerson, simply called Alex Dickerson is a professional baseball player with the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He is of American descent and plays as a left fielder for the team.



Alex was born and raised in Poway, California in the USA. He played high school baseball at Poway High School in Poway, California. When he completed high school, the Washington Nationals selected him in the 48th round of the 2008 MLB draft but he did not sign with them and chose to play college baseball at Indiana University.

Before he completed university, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2009 and 2010. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 3rd round of the 2011 MLB draft. He signed with them and received a signing bonus of $380,700. He then made his professional debut that season with the State College Spikes.



In November 2013, the Pirates traded him to the San Diego Padres. He was called up to the majors in August 2015 and he made his MLB debut with the San Diego Padres that month. He was traded to the San Francisco Giants in 2019 and in March 2022, he signed a major-league contract worth $1 million with the Atlanta Braves.
