David Robertson, full name David Alan Robertson and nicknamed D-Rob professionally is a professional baseball player who serves as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs baseball team of Major League Baseball(MLB). He is 1.8 m tall and weighs 88kg.



David was born and raised in Alabama in the town of Birmingham on April 9, 1985. He was a student at Central-Tuscaloosa High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He played baseball for the school’s baseball team only in his first three years in the school.

Within that period, he played interchangeably as a shortstop and pitcher and helped the team win back-to-back area titles, as well as back-to-back 6A State Playoff appearances.



After he graduated from high school in 2004, he was undrafted thus he decided to enrol at the University of Alabama where he played college baseball for the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team.

He was drafted by the New York Yankees after college and in June 2008, the Yankees called him up to the major leagues where he made his MLB debut playing them.

The Tampa Bay Rays signed David into their organisation in August 2021. In March 2022, the Chicago Cubs signed a one-year contract with him.
