Benjamin Joseph Gamel (born May 17, 1992) is a Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates (MLB). He has previously played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, and Cleveland Indians in the Major League Baseball.

The Seattle Mariners acquired Gamel from the New York Yankees on August 31, 2016, in exchange for minor-league pitchers Jio Orozco and Juan De Paula. Gamel hit.275/.322/.413 with 11 home runs and 59 RBI in 509 at-bats for Seattle in 2017. In 101 games with the Mariners in 2018, Gamel hit.272/.358/.370 with one home run and 19 RBI in 257 at-bats.

The Mariners traded Gamel and Noah Zavolas to the Milwaukee Brewers on December 21, 2018, for Domingo Santana.



In 2019, Gamel appeared in 134 games with the Brewers, batting.248/.337/.373 with seven home runs and 33 RBI in 311 at-bats. In 40 at-bats in 2020, Gamel hit.237/.315/.404 with 3 home runs and 10 RBI in 114 at-bats. The Brewers did not tender Gamel on December 2, 2020, leaving him a free agent.

Gamel signed a minor league deal with the Cleveland Indians organization on February 11, 2021, which included an invitation to Spring Training. On March 27, 2021, the Indians chose Gamel’s contract. On May 5, 2021, Gamel was assigned.

Gamel was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 9, 2021. Gamel hit.255/.352/.399 with 8 home runs and 26 RBIs in 111 games for the Pirates.
