It’s challenging to recall the last two Dodgers teams without bringing up Ross Stripling. Stripling was with the team for all of their years of success and significant playoff campaigns, and he was always popular among Los Angeles fans.
He also never managed to secure a regular spot on the Dodgers’ bullpen. As a result, Los Angeles traded him to Toronto for two prospects at the 2020 trade deadline. And even though he currently represents Toronto, Dodger supporters are still thinking of him.
Ross went to pick up the 2020 World Series ring he earned for helping the Dodgers win the championship. Before being traded, he started 7 games for Los Angeles, posting a 3-1 record.
Although Strip is having a mediocre season with the Blue Jays, his recent outings have been outstanding. In his last 18.1 innings of work, Stripling has struck out 13 batters to only 3 walks, while only allowing 3 earned runs.
This year, the Dodgers definitely lack his versatility in and out of the bullpen.
For many years, Stripling was the kind of pitcher who could switch from the starting rotation to the bullpen and back in the same week. Stripling started 59 games over his four and a half seasons with the Dodgers, playing in a total of 143 contests.
