Mauricio Dubon is a Honduran professional baseball shortstop and center fielder for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Boston Red Sox selected Dubón out of high school in the 26th round of the 2013 MLB draft.

In the 26th round of the 2013 MLB draft, the Red Sox picked Dubón. The Lowell Spinners promoted Dubón to the New York–Penn League in 2014, where he had a.320 hitting average and was one of the league’s top ten hitters (82-for-256).

In his first 11 games with the Greenville Drive in 2015, Dubón hit.364 with 10 extra-base hits.

His final season was spent with the High-A Salem Red Sox of the Carolina League, where in 120 games, he posted a combined slash of.288/.349/.376 with 30 stolen bases.

Midseason All-Star in the SAL. The Boston Red Sox subsequently extended an invitation to him to attend spring training in 2016 and he accepted.

This year, Dubón made the Carolina League All-Star squad and represented the C-Club in the 2016 California League All-Star Game.

After his appearance in the All-Star Game, he was promoted to the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs. After a.306/.387/.379 line in 238 at-bats, Dubón was promoted with a decent approach that resulted in more walks than strikeouts (25).
