Jacob Allen “J. B.” Bukauskas is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB). He was a member of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team.

After compiling a 7-0 record, striking out 88 hitters, and not allowing an earned run during the season, Bukauskas was named the 2014 All-Met Baseball Player of the Year.

The Arizona Diamondbacks selected him in the 20th round, but he did not sign with them. In 2016, he was a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Chatham Anglers as a collegiate summer baseball player.

In the 2017 MLB draft, the Houston Astros picked Bukauskas with the 15th overall pick. After one scoreless appearance with the Gulf Coast League Astros,

he was promoted to the Tri-City ValleyCats, where he concluded the season with a 4.50 ERA in six innings pitched. He made 14 starts for five different teams in 2018, earning a combined 4–2 record with a 2.14 ERA in 14 starts; he missed time due to injury during the year.
